Thoughts on ZB Block: I started to use ZB Block in late November 2008. I then became the first beta tester for the new versions. In my main site, which is integrated with a forum, I use a heavily modified phpbb2. Much of the modifications later went into the new version phpbb3 like normal options.

ZB Block is great software, and a great defense. In the beginning, I had some problems because I use PHP5, when most other boards were still on PHP4. But Zap helped me to quickly fix those problems. Also, I had some problems of a regional nature (Namely my native language which uses the Cyrillic character set), but with the introduction of the customsig.inc file, they also were cured. The biggest hassle for me was to get ZB Block to work in concert with my Proxy revealer, but Zap succeeded to find a proper solution. This was a custom problem that does not apply to other sites.

All four of my site's sections are running on PHP and ZB Block protects them all. It's protection works quietly, accurately, and quickly. I sincerely recommend it to every owner of a PHP site.

We cover not only free security software but paid versions too. We also provide links to free virus scanners for both full system scans and singular file scanning.

Thoughts on ZB Block: Well, I have moderated a prominent security site (no names, no pack drill) for the last year before starting a free host site, then my current one (IssViews). I quickly learnt that spammers etc, will use any means necessary in which to bog your system down with porn, handbags, fake warez and other illegal content. Not only will this make your life miserable detecting and keeping them all off your board, (practically impossible) but they will use your board to exploit the search engines and boost their own rankings. I became sick and tired of trying to curb these parasites, and keep these sites free from adverse advertising. It's quick to become listed as a rogue site, if they manage to get out of control, no matter how hard I tried.

I was determined this would not happen with IssViews, so I looked about for some time for software that would help me to provide a service, uninterrupted and free from these scumbags. This was no easy task as many offer different ways to achieve this, but only ONE, ZB Block, had everything I required. It has this unique ability to block them before they can even get registered, including their spam search engine bots too. Even hackers get a surprise when they try to test your site for entry points only to get the BIG 403 thrown back at them saying, "SOD OFF!"

Since installing this software I have had not 1 single spam account register nor have any hackers managed to get through either (10/09 and counting). I can go to sleep at night, or take time out watching the TV, and no longer have to wonder how many spammers have posted anymore. There wont be any! As if this is not enough, I can even look over my logs and see their attempts to get in, and the 'Booted' reply they got back. This has been the best software I have installed in what seems like years. It's a credit to the author and my thanks go to him. If you do nothing else, install this and believe me, you will not regret it for one moment.

Thoughts on ZB Block: My main site has been very active for four years. I've met my share of spambots & spammers over the years, and I have to say they are so annoying. I for one know how important it is to market a website or product, but things are out of control. Only part of the spam fight is being won and that is because many marketers have noticed people just do NOT read their spam, so I am hopeful that they lean towards legit marketing in the near future. The biggest problem is people signing up for free software trials, downloads, feeds, lists, and more. Do you realize you're handing over your email address to be spammed? Unfortunately that is the case in so many of those "sign ups"

I've watched ZB Block grow and I know how much hard work goes into this script. My website is extremely important to me and I depend on it. Having ZB Block protecting my forum is critical and I cannot praise it enough. It has stopped spammers in their tracks, and I will continue to support it.

Never hesitate to make a suggestion here at the Spambot Security. I've had some ideas on what would make ZBBlock easier for us non-programmers to use and understand. Zaph has always made our suggestions top priority and if possible he made it happen. He does this on his own freewill, without asking for anything in return. I will do my best to support him, and his cause... by using his script, adding his link to my forum, and spreading the word about ZBBlock. When I can I will donate whatever I can to help.

Thoughts on ZB Block: I cannot say enough about ZB Block! With a little help from Zaphod, I was able to have this up and running on my joomla site.
I had been having problems with turkish hackers, or script kiddies for a more appropriate term, attacking my site through holes in third party components. ZB Block has effectively stopped these annoying little turds in their tracks.

I have NEVER donated money to any software developers like this. This has worked so well all around that I felt compelled to actually donate.
TOP NOTCH SECURITY TOOL WITH TOP NOTCH SUPPORT! I will be using this on every site I build from now on. Guaranteed.
